Up early to drive from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, trying to catch a sunrise at the Southport pumping jetty. The sand pumping jetty stretches 800m out into the Pacific Ocean where it intercepts the northward-moving longshore drift. The sand bypasses past the Southport Seaway, maintaining the shipping lane entry into the Southport Broadwater.

While the sunrise itself wasn’t exactly spectacular, the clouds looking west weren’t bad, so I took the opportunity to put up the drone to catch a couple of shots.
