Uralla foggy morning sunrise

April 10, 2018

Foggy morning Uralla    The New England region of New South Wales is a stunning subject, especially when combined with a foggy autumn morning. Found in the Armidale / Uralla region this little wagon caught my eye. Driving along a dirt road heading North toward Armidale,  seemingly out of nowhere, this scene appeared.   Venturing a […]

Manly boat harbour

January 19, 2018

Manly Boat Harbour Manly Australia Throwback Thursday. Manly boat harbour at sunrise. One of those “lucky” shots, I had been at this location for an hour or so to photograph the sunrise. It hadn’t quite worked out how I had hoped, so had packed up my camera gear and getting ready to head off for […]

Bixby Creek Bridge – Big Sur – California

September 4, 2016

Roughly 215km (135mi) south of San Francisco is this little gem of a bridge on highway 1, the Bixby Creek bridge. As it’s name suggests, this bridge allows highway 1 to cross Bixby Creek along the beautiful Big Sur coastline region of California. Built in 1932, the bridge itself is fairly typical of many other concrete arch bridges scattered along the west coast, but what makes the Bixby Creek Bridge stand out from the rest is it’s stunning location. With rolling mountains on one side and the Pacific ocean on the other the bridge is quite popular with the tourists looking to stretch their legs and take a quick snapshot of the scenery.

Up super early in the morning to drive from North Brisbane to the Gold Coast, to try to catch a sunrise at the Southport sand pumping jetty. The sand pumping jetty stretches 800m out into the Pacific Ocean where it intercepts the northward moving longshore drift sand.

Maroochy River Boat Houses

Maroochy River Boat Houses

Sitting along the banks of the Maroochy River, are these little boat houses. Up early looking for a nice reflection, the river certainly didn’t disappoint. Within minutes the sky turned from deep blue, to an amazing golden hue as the sun made it’s way into the sky.
